Family Relationships are the first relationships we encounter. Unlike all other types of relationships, we do not chose the persons involved. These persons are determined by God which makes these the most important relationships we may have.
Our family teaches us how to be in relationship with others. It is so important for parents to model “appropriate” interaction because children are always watching to see if their parents are who they say they are. Children see, hear and remember E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!
Family relationships can be wonderful and tricky all at the same time. I mean you love your family, yet, they can be a handful. Your family can be so loving and turn around and be so hurtful.
The best love can be shown to you by your family and in a moment’s time they can break your heart. It is true, the people you love the most can hurt you the worst. Why?, because their love means something to you. their opinion matters to you. they are important to you.
When it’s all said and done, we should value our family relationships. These relationships are important and I dare to say possibly the most important. Like other relationships that you encounter, those with your family must be nurtured as well. When interacting with our family, it is important to remember that God chose these people for us and are in our lives for a specific reason and purpose. Respect them at all times and know that how you treat them must be in the way you want to be treated, by what is projected on to you.
